Remember the song refrain, “E- I- E- I -O”? Memorable messaging tells our story: KCAT Educates, Informs, Entertains, Inspires and creates Opportunities through the magic of television, radio and digital media arts technology.
Founded 40 years ago, KCAT TV contributes to the vitality of the community by live broadcasting government meetings which brings transparency to residents and ignites civic engagement. We’re creating career pathways and teaching digital media skills year-round to youth, teens and adults 55+; livestreaming community events such as graduations and parades; and fostering involvement in creating and producing local original content.
The Power of US
K​CAT’s TV, Radio, podcast and media programs are designed to educate and give a voice to hundreds of youth and teens from diverse cultures, backgrounds and neurodiverse communities. KCAT’s FREE 2b ME© media arts program for youth initiative supports positive mental health and wellness through creative expression. With no grades, no tests and no stress, our FREE 2b ME© curriculum uplifts students through engaging media projects they look forward to.
KCAT employs and mentors college and high school student creators, directors, producers and counselors who in turn mentor and teach youth. Additionally, we’ve developed The Producers’ Network, a community of adults 55+ with an interest in working at KCAT's vibrant "media playground" and volunteering at community events like KCAT's annual Oktoberfest Los Gatos fundraiser.

As a non-profit deeply rooted in the community, KCAT creates and produces innovative local content highlighting the stories in our community.
Our programs and services include: youth and teen multimedia camps and classes, podcasting for all ages, scholarships for underserved youth, The Producers Network for Adults 55+, internships and job opportunities for students ages 15-24, broadcasting and livestreaming government meetings and community events, and professional video production services for organizations, businesses and family legacy videos.
